You can plan to visit Bali through all months between March to October, in general. These months experience lesser rainfall.
However, if you are one who enjoys rainfall on a tropical island like Bali, you can still plan your visit anytime through the year.
December still tends to be the most popular month for Bali visitors, owing to the year end and Christmas holidays, in spite of the downpours expected!
The border months of monsoon like February and October generally have cheaper accommodation and flight fares, while it also depends on the demand for the dates you are considering travel.
Bali offers you a plethora of activities to indulge in. You are in fact spoilt by choices.
We generally recommend splitting your vacation into 4-5 parts.
Part 1: Greener Ubud
It is ideal to start your vacation by staying at Ubud, which is the greener part of the island.
Ubud is famous for for its art markets, its palace. It is the gateway to visit a lot of Hindu temples in the adjoining provinces.
If you are into adventure activities, Ubud is also your go to place, whether you want to indulge in river rafting, volcano jeep rides, ATV rides or jungle hikes!
Hinduism is the predominant religion of the inhabitants of Bali island.
The island has lots of Hindu temples with their amazing architectural designs.
Most of these temples can be explored by staying at Ubud as part of various day excursions.
The Handara Gate, Ulun Danu Beratan are the famous temples in the North Western part of the island.
Lempuyang and Tirta Gangga are the famous temples in the North Eastern part of the island.
Goa Gajah, Taman Ayun and Tirtha Empul and other temples that are famous around the Ubud central regions.
Part 2: Kuta, Seminyak & Canggu
If you are a party animal, you should plan to stay few nights around the hippies paradise of Canggu.
The region also has a great variety of boutique stores for your souvenir shopping.
Thanks to its popularity w.r.t. the clubs, it is also known for its long traffic jams and slow moving traffic.
Seminyak lies between Kuta and Canggu and has a great choice of villas starting with few USDs all the way to few 1000s of USDs, and offers a peaceful stay relatively, with easy access to restaurants, convenience stores and other necessary amenities.
Kuta is the most famous, yet crowded part of the island, loved by backpackers for the cheaper options it provides.
It is also relatively closer to the airport thereby cutting down on travel time as well as transfer costs.
Part 3: Island hopping to Nusa Penida
Nusa Penida is an island adjacent to the Bali main island. The island got its popularity over the last few years owing to the sweeping views of the sea from its cliffs.
Nusa Penida is a famous day outing destination for most Bali visitors wherein they get to visit most of the attractions on the West Coast.
The island is accessible through a short one hour speedboat ride from Bali island.
However, Diamond beach is an amazing attraction which can be explored if you decide to stay on the island for at least one night and spread your visits across two days.
The island has limited infrastructure and is getting better as days progress. So, please be prepared accordingly.
Part 4: Island hopping to Gili group of islands
If you are spending more than a week at Bali, you should consider traveling to the Gili group of islands.
Gili Trawangan is the most famous among the family of islands, especially with party-goers and adventure lovers.
Gili Air and Gli Meno are the other two serene yet relatively less crowded islands.
Tropical island with amazing sights!
Bali is an island with amazing sights, beautiful countryside, excellent coastline, volcanoes in the center of the island, and not to forget the hillside temples!
